History

The law firm of Torbert and Torbert, PA was originally established in 1980 by Jack and Whit Torbert. Whit Torbert has been engaged in the general practice of law for over 39 years in all Alabama Trial and Appellate Courts and Federal Court in the Northern District of Alabama. Areas of Practice include, but not limited to: Bankruptcy; Personal Injury- General and Medical Malpractice; Social Security Disability; Workmen’s Compensation; Estate Planning and Probate; Estates, Wills and Trusts; Litigation-Civil; Family Law- Divorce, Child Custody and Adoptions; and Real Estate.

Whit Torbert

Whit Torbert began practicing law in 1980 with his father, Jack Torbert. Whit has practiced law in almost all areas of the law for 39 years. Whit has successfully represented Debtors and Creditors in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Whit has also tried and/or settled over a thousand Jury and Non-Jury cases in Alabama State Courts. Torbert and Torbert PA also has an extensive Probate practice and has prepared over a thousand Wills and Powers of Attorney. Whit formerly served as a Special Probate Judge for Etowah County, Alabama and has extensive experience in complex litigation concerning Will disputes. Torbert and Torbert PA also represents clients in Personal Injury Claims, Workers’ Compensation, Divorces, Child Custody, and Real Estate matters.
